It is with great pleasure (and a huge grin) that I am able to announce the arrival and deployment of the two replacement racing buoys (No.2 and No.3) outside of Brighton Marina.
This couldn’t have been done without the huge help and support over the past 3 months from the following people:
- Pete Tyler
- Colin Scarff
- Peter Whittle
- Peter Dilloway-Thompson
- Paul Dupret
- Paul Scully
- And last but by no means least, David Harvey.
A special double thanks to the two Pauls and David Harvey as without the support of the divers, this project would not have been possible.
I hope that we all enjoy many years of racing around these marks and now that we are pleased with the results of these buoys, we will shortly be ordering an additional one for the No.6 “John Rolfe Memorial Buoy” to be placed in the centre of the cross between No.1 and No.3 and No.2 and No.4. We will need to make some ground tackle for this too before we can deploy.
Anyway, please try not to scratch the new buoys and enjoy racing around them as much as I know I will.
All the very best,
Rob Mclean, BMYC Racing Committee
